Give Me More Power Give Me More Speed

Like firebirds flying in the haze of the sun
I saw the cars speeding on a practise run
Burning up the road till the session was done
Exhausts blasting like the barrels of a gun
If you get the breaks you'll be a hero in the end
And everyone will want to be your friend
But there's no place to hide when you're out on the track
And if you get it all wrong it's a long and lonely walk back

Give me more power, give me more speed
A split second is all I need
If you keep it on the edge you might lose it in a spin
But it's all or nothing and I need a chance to win

  Brakes are disks of fire
Stolen from the gods, now the flames climb higher
When the stars threw down their spears
They challenged us to tame our fears
  How fine the engines sound
As they take you and shake you and make your heart pound
Drivers fighting to bring them around
Like tigers cars race over the ground

With the tension building and your hear rate rising
And everyone out of the way
As you grip the wheel your hands are sweating
And now there's nothing left to say

The lights go out the engines scream
Power and motion like in a dream
Like chariot races where rubber wheels burn
Down the straight and into the turn
With engines singing their urgent song
Carbon and steel they race along
At the checkered flag the fans all roar
To race to win isn't that what life is for
