The Champions of the World |
||
| We want to be the champions of the world | ||
| We fought so hard to win through to here | ||
| To see the crowd on every side | ||
| With flying colours so bright and clear | ||
| See the trophy gleaming in the spotlight/sunlight | ||
| So fine it looks and now so near | ||
| As the crowd raises a mighty chorus | ||
| The finest sound that anyone could hear | ||
| We want to be the champions of the world | ||
| To do better than we have ever done before | ||
| To be the best that we can be | ||
| So that our names may live for evermore | ||
| May the power and the glory | ||
| Of our game last ten thousand years | ||
| And may our path lead on to victory | ||
| And not leave us with heartbreak and in tears | ||
| And when we're tired help us take another step | ||
| When we're in pain help us take another breath | ||
| If we fall down help us stand and carry on | ||
| Help us become the champions of the world | ||
| Help us become the champions of the world | ||
